Hey all! I've got a lot of posts to write in not a lot of time (lol what's new) so I wanted to do a quick tag for my Thursday blog! I know I'm a little late to this tag, but let's do it shall we?
1. Best book you've read so far in 2019?
Okay, I'm cheating a lil bit here. I haven't actually finished Spin the Dawn, but have you ever started a book and just INSTANTLY knew it would become one of your favorites ever? That's the feeling I'm getting from Spin. I may only be about 41% done, but it's shaping up to be a solid 5 star read.
Unsaid was heart-wrenchingly beautiful. I smiled. I laughed. I cried reading this book. I love the characters, the writing, the situation. I was 100% impressed by this book and it was easily one of my favorites of 2019.
2. Best sequel you've read so far in 2019?
I actually haven't read a sequel book this year! I guess 2019 has truly been the year of standalones for me!
3. New release you haven't read but want to?

This is technically a new release even though it is a sequel and I never even read The Kiss Quotient. (I am embarrassing myself) MOVING ON.
4. Most anticipated release for the second half of 2019?

When I tell ya'll I c a n n o t wait for this book. Look at that cover! The synopsis is to die for!! I am so hyped! It releases October 1st.
5. Biggest disappointment?

Hear me out: It's not that I HATED this book. I actually liked it and I am still looking forward to reading the sequel when it releases. I just didn't love this book as much as I really, really wanted to.
6. Biggest surprise?

This was my very first read of 2019 and my first voluntary nonfiction read. I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by this book! It took me a while to get into the case studies and get a feel for Oliver Sacks' writing style, but by the end I was happy I read it.
7. Favorite new author?
This one is a tie between Neil Abramson and Elizabeth Lim. Both of their books have spoke to me and were instantly my favorites of 2019.
8. Newest fictional crush?
Definitely Edan from Spin the Dawn! He's comical, witty, and caring underneath all that sarcasm.
9. Newest favorite character?
I'd have to give this one to Helena from Unsaid. I saw SO MUCH of myself in her and that's probably why Unsaid is one of my favorite books I've read this year.
10. Book that made you cry?

Hey, Unsaid! Are you here to SHATTER me again?
11. Favorite book-to-movie adaptation you saw this year?

Okay so technically this book was actually written based off the movie Five Feet Apart, but it's close enough to count so I'm DOING IT.
12. Favorite review you've written this year?

My favorite review this year was definitely my review for The Shattered Moon and/or my review for Young, Dumb, & Naive. I feel like I had a lot to say in both of these reviews that really capture me as a reader and my preferences, so check them out!
13. Most beautiful book you bought so far this year?

100% goes to Spin The Dawn. That is all.
15. What books do you need to read by the end of the year?

I actually did a blog post about 5 books I want to read by the end of 2019! Although I'm definitely adding Daughters of Nri to that list. (SO EXCITED STILL)

That is my semi-late mid year book freak out tag! I hope you enjoyed and I'll see you on Saturday!
